Privacy policy

What information CredibleNow collects when you visit, how advertising and analytics cookies are used, and the choices you have.

Last updated: September 9, 2026

This policy explains what data is collected when you use crediblenow.com (the "site"), why, and what control you have over it. It applies to the site only, not to third-party sites we link to.

Who we are

The site is operated by CredibleNow ("we", "us"). You can contact us about anything in this policy at [email protected].

Information we collect

Information you give us

The site has no accounts, comments or newsletter sign-up. The only way you give us personal information is by emailing us. We keep that correspondence for as long as needed to deal with it and to keep a record of corrections.

Information collected automatically

Like almost every website, our hosting provider records standard server logs: IP address, browser type, the pages you request, the time, and the page that referred you. These are used for security, to diagnose problems and to see which pages are read. Log data is retained for a limited period by the hosting provider and is not used to identify individual readers.

Cookies and similar technologies

The site itself sets one cookie-like value in your browser's local storage to remember that you have dismissed the cookie notice. Third parties may set cookies as described below. Our cookie policy lists them.

Advertising

We use third-party advertising companies, including Google AdSense, to serve advertisements when you visit the site. These companies may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your visits to this and other websites in order to show advertisements about goods and services that may interest you.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info and, in Europe, at youronlinechoices.eu.
  • Google's own policy on how it uses data from sites that use its services is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), you will be asked for consent before advertising cookies are used, through a consent tool provided by our advertising partner. You can change your choice at any time through that tool.

Analytics

We may use a privacy-focused analytics service or Google Analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate (for example, which articles are read and from which countries). If Google Analytics is used, IP addresses are anonymised and the data is not used to identify you. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

How we use information

  • To operate, secure and improve the site.
  • To respond to your messages.
  • To serve and measure advertising, which funds the site.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share your email correspondence with anyone outside the editorial team unless required by law.

Legal basis (EEA and UK readers)

We process server logs on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website. Advertising and analytics cookies are used on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw. Correspondence is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering you and maintaining accurate content.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to processing, to data portability, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Residents of California and some other US states have rights under state privacy laws, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information; to opt out of personalised advertising, use the links in the advertising section above. To exercise any other right, email us.

Children

The site is written for adults and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

Articles link to government agencies, employers, training providers and other publishers. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for them.

Security and retention

The site is served over HTTPS. We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here. Email correspondence is generally kept for up to two years unless there is a reason to keep it longer (for example a published correction).

Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. Significant changes will be noted on the site.
